There are few that match the hustle, ambition and drive of prolific electronic producer Jacob Hoskins. The Vancouver-based aboriginal artist is simultaneously one third of local Hip-Hop group Rejected Kings, the founder of collective Sound For The Future, and an independent producer, musician and artist in his own name. His musical endeavors have seen him playing multiple venues around Victoria and Vancouver such as Fortune Sound Club, The Alexander, Copper Owl, and have recently landed him a showcase on CBC radio. His clean and hard-hitting production continues to draw more recognition from other artists around the city as he builds his name, brand and following.
After growing up in Powell River, the young producer moved to Vancouver to pursue his career and hone his craft. With a versatile and distinct sound, his catalogue supports multiple genres, including Trap, Future Bass, Hip-Hop and Pop. Despite the adaptability of his music, Jacob’s unique sonic landscapes are notably described as edgy, dramatic, melancholic and dark. His musical influences contrast each other, noting artists such as Flume, Kanye West, Disclosure, 808 Mafia, Odesza, J Dilla, Calvin Harris and Ryan Leslie. He also draws a heavy inspiration from cinema, with films from genres like Horror, Thrillers and Action.
